About Me

I am a professional programmer and Linux systems administrator with over 20 years of experience. Currently I am employed as a Senior Systems Engineer on the Platform Team at HelloWorld, Inc., where I aid in the management of several hundred physical and virtual Linux servers, as well as developing and maintaining some custom internal software systems. I primarily work with CentOS/RHEL but I have also managed servers running SuSE, Debian and Ubuntu.

Although my primary job now is systems administration, I still consider myself to be a programmer first. I am fluent in a number of programming languages, including C, C++, Java, PHP, Python, and Perl.

In addition to my work as an IT professional I am also an avid hobbyist, not only in software but hardware as well. I write open source software, manage my own private servers and design and build my own home robots. I also dabble in 3D printing, which I have used to fabricate parts for my robots.
